Overall, a great PA ski experience, easy to get to right off I-81 and between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. But hey, if this is my biggest complaint, that's not too bad. You either have to pay for bottled water or get water from a bathroom sink. The one issue with the lodge is there are no water fountains - which to me is a bit ridiculous. I should also say I'm a big fan of Slocum Hollow - a great place to get lunch (good food and reasonably priced), as well as a drink after skiing.

I realize lift improvements or replacements can be expensive, and I appreciate that they (relatively) keep their prices down compared to other Pocono resorts, but some kind of lift upgrade would be a huge draw.

The lifts are quite slow and while shorter lifts (e.g., the Phoebe quad on the North Face) can be as it is, it'd be great to have a faster bottom-to-top lift (replacing the current Long Haul) as that trip can feel like forever. I mostly ski up in New England now, and Montage doesn't bore, even when compared to larger resorts. It's a great place to progress and build skill, including steeps and moguls.

For a relatively small mountain with 20-some trails, there is a good amount of variety - great beginners for those just starting off some fun intermediates with rollings hills top-to-bottom Runaway and Fast Track that give you the full 1000 vertical and the steeps of the North Face trails. They make snow whenever they can and they do an impressive job expanding terrain. Though the winter wasn't ideal, Montage did the best they could to provide a solid snow experience.

I grew up skiing at Montage, but got back for a visit this past winter. On our way out we took a ride on the ski lift which was free. I am not sure if I would pay full price on a hot day to go back. We rented the smallest locker for 6.00 for the day. There was plenty of lounge chairs but only because it was not crowded. There was a snack bar in the pool area and a larger food area in the main building that offered pizza, burger, fries, chicken fingers and drinks. There were 3 different slides and a wave pool for the big kids and a water play area with 2 small slides for the little ones. The length of the lazy river was ok, however the width was not large at all. If the park was crowded it might have changed their minds. Our kids enjoyed the slides because the lines were not long. The day we went was chilly so the park was not crowded. We got the tickets online for 5.00 a piece(reg 24.00). We visited the Montage Mountain Water park on June 10th. If if was closer to my house, I'd consider a season pass. No shady characters, no obnoxious cliques loitering about.just great family fun. We hit Johnny Rockets and Ben & Jerry's as I let my birthday son be king for the day. I saw families splitting a large pizza and it worked for them well. You cannot bring in anything from the outside (except a bottle of water). There is also a kiddie splash area which looks just right for those little Frankenstein walkers to about age 5.

There is also free miniature golf and batting cages included in the admission, but we were all about the water attractions: lazy river, wave pool, and three adventurous slides. The management at the Lodge food court (a woman named Char) went the extra mile to make sure that my family and I had the best experience possible.

Stayed at the Mariott and it truly was a perfect day. We stayed overnight & caught a AAA Yankee game (Railriders) that was just 2 miles down the road. It was small enough for my sons (ages 11 & 12) to go off on their own and touch base with me at "home base," at a comfy lounge chair under an umbrella. My kids and I loved the waterpark at Montage Mountain.
